Today we read from the book and answered a few questions...
1.
Pericles was a wise statesman who ran Athens during most of its golden age. Pericles was a skillful politician that dominated Athens in 461-429 B.C. His goals were to strengthen Athenian government, hold and strengthen the empire, and to glorify Athens.
2.
A direct democracy is run by the citizens, without the representatives. Male citizens established all the important government policies that affected the polis.
3.
The delian league was a league of all the different parts of Athens. Pericles used the money from it to make the navy in Athens stronger than any other. The delian league was like an alliance formed by the many people.
