City-States in Mesopotamia

Today in class, we talked over what we're going to be doing over the next semester and how class is planned out.

The Classwork from today:
1.
Fertile Crescent- The regions curved shape and richness of its land.
Mesopotamia- The lands facing the Mediterranean Sea and a plain
City-state- An independent country
Dynasty- A series of rulers from a single family
Cultural Diffusion- A new idea or a product that spreads from one culture to another
polytheism- The belief in more than one god
3.
The three challenges that Sumerians encounter
  1. Unpredictable flooding 
  2. No protective barrier
  3. limited resources
